Dreamwidth 101

SportFest takes place on Dreamwidth, which might be really unfamiliar to some of you, but don't worry! I'll explain a little bit about how Dreamwidth works and what you need to know to take part in SF. If you have any other questions about Dreamwidth, you can PM me or use any one of SportsFest's other contact methods! (link to contact us)
There will be two parts to this: How to post and an html overview!

1. Track - Here is where you can set up a subscription to be notified every time we add a new post! These alerts will go to your dreamwidth inbox and (optionally) your email!
2. Site style - if you're having trouble reading our posts for any reason, these will change the theme to something friendlier to your eyes. "Mine" changes the theme to match the one you've set for your own journal, and "Light" reduces it to a basic html page with little to no styling.
As you scroll down, you'll find the posts featuring our Bonus Rounds and more like so:

Clicking any one of the highlighted options will take you to the full post where you can read all the information about the bonus round. At the bottom of the post you will see the following:

1. Post a new comment - This is what you'll click to get started prompting! (More on commenting below)
2. Flat - Do you want to see all the comments posted in chronological order without threads? Well, if you do, this button will make those dreams come true.
3. Top Level Comments Only - arguably one of the most useful buttons here! This will show all the comments posted to the bonus round without showing you replies to said comments. In other words, if you only want to see prompts, click here!
Now, you're ready to prompt/fill! To prompt, click "Post a New Comment" as shown above. To fill a prompt, click "reply" on the prompt you want to fill! The box will look about the same.

1. Subject - Here goes the title for your comment! Be sure to use the correct format for prompting/filling (which will be provided in the post)
2. Message - And here goes your prompt/fill!
3. Preview - This will show you exactly how your comment will look! This is super helpful for catching any formatting issues before you post.
And here's what your post will look like after posting it!

1. Link - This is a permalink for your post. Useful for sharing your post elsewhere or keeping a log of all your prompts/fills.
2. Edit - Click this to edit your post Important: You will not be able to edit your post after someone has replied to it!
3. Delete - We all make mistakes! If you do, the delete button is here for you.
4. Reply to this - The aforementioned reply button you will use to fill prompts and gush over amazing fills!
